When tourists think about traveling to the Holy Land, they don’t know that this could include the cultural and beautiful land of Egypt.  Egypt tour packages are quite common with people who want to travel abroad and get a broad viewpoint of life in a foreign land.  Oftentimes, Christians are particularly interested in these tours because they can see where the children of Israel slaved under the hand of Pharaoh before Moses led them to freedom.

Winters in Egypt are mild while summers are dry and hot, typical for a country with a desert climate.  There can be a big difference in temperature from morning to nightfall. Plan to bring layers of clothing when touring Egypt, as the temperature will change quite a bit from cool to hot.  Their mild winter begins in November while their summer months start in May. Rainfall is only in the northern part of the country and is very sporadic and light.

Egypt tours have various packages for people traveling to Egypt on vacation.  You can schedule a one-day tour where you can visit St. Catherine’s Monastery and climb Mount Sinai.  These tours start early in the morning and include traveling through the Sinai desert with an Egyptian guide.  This also includes a visit to the area where Moses saw the burning bush and received the Ten Commandments. 

Tours can last anywhere from four to fifteen days.  Foreign tourists will arrive at the Cairo International Airport where they are greeted by the tour representative. They are escorted through immigration and customs and then driven to their hotel.  Depending upon the length of the tour, there will be a variety of places to visit. Two places that are included in most tours are the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, which have stood for the last 5000 years.  The Egyptian Museum is where the artifacts of the era of the Pharaohs are held. The treasures of King Tutankhamen’s tomb are there as well.  A drive through Old Cairo will show you where early Judaism and Christianity thrived in Egypt.
