Self catering opportunities on the island are many and are one of the best ways to experience budget accommodation compared with guest houses and hotels. Many visitors to the Isle of Wight prefer the more relaxed option of getting up in the morning whenever they please and cooking their own meals or eating out in the many excellent caf©s and restaurants or charming pubs. This is the reason why many people regard self catering as the best form of accommodation on offer for a vist to the isle of Wight.
Self catering on the Isle of Wight means you don’t have to be concerned about watching the clock all the time. You have no worries about making it down for breakfast on time, or leaving your room so that the cleaners can do their bit. All these reasons help to make the island ideal and popular for a self catering break. You have at some point the need to make the crossing to the island, from Portsmouth, Lymington or Southampton. The Lymington ferry, set close to the wilds of the New Forest, is my favourite of all of the crossings.
Self Catering
One of the most popular areas for self catering are the caravan parks, where you are likely to find entertainment added throughout the day and night. Or, if you are a little less sociable, you could look at the more peaceful options of the Isle of Wight apartments. You will also find villas, lodges and quaint cosy cottages on offer. For some people the idea of staying in a barn on a working farm is a perfect break, or perhaps pitching a tent in the numerous campsites. This option is generally more popular for visitors to the impressive number of festivals the Island has to offer; for example the IOW festival Which offers the best that the world music scene has to offer.
